Rising Damp

humidite ascensionelleRising damp in buildings occurs when water from the ground rises up through the bricks and mortar of a building by capilliarity: the wall acts as a sponge.

The treatment with PC® FREEZ is based on the diffusion of a solution of a k-methyl siliconate applied as frozen liquid patterns. These frozen PC® FREEZ cartridges are inserted in the pre-drilled holes of the masonry which has to be treated.

The slow-melting PC® FREEZ sticks ensure a continuous water-repellent barrier throughout the treated area.

Capillary action ensures that the released siliconates follow the natural pathways of the rising damp itself.
